We spoke with CEO and “Head Chef,” Steve Murch, about what makes Big Oven so app-etizing and here’s what he had to say:

1) What inspired you to build the app?
BigOven is the social network about food that helps you become a better cook. The iPad’s natural form-factor in the kitchen make it the perfect smart-cookbook and having your shopping list right by your side in the same cookbook, is just icing on the cake.
2) Why does the ad revenue model make sense for you?
For our free application, since it connects with our servers, we like the fact that revenue is tied to usage of the app, not just downloads.
3) Why did you choose Mobclix?
Mobclix has a great development toolkit that took literally minutes to set up with the iPad.
4) What tips do you have for other developers?
Consider incorporating analytics into your iPad application…because it’s hard to improve without measuring usage data, and at BigOven, we like to have a rich dashboard of data to help us improve the product.
