1) What inspired you to build the app?

BrainCounts.com’s primary focus is on educational iPhone/iPad apps.  We started doing apps for our own kids. While trying to be a parent and working a full-time job, we recognized that we needed something that would supplement, but not completely replace, our role as educators.  We got such great feedback and demand for the apps so we made it our full-time passion.  As our kids progress and their preferences in apps changed, our type of apps changed as well.  We now focus on entertainment apps with a flare of educational value.  Hence the reason why we created “Crazy Symon” – it is fun, entertaining, and keeps their brains active.

2) Why does the ad revenue model make sense for you?

As we see more and more apps being offered for Free, we wanted to stay competitive and widely distribute our app to the masses but at the same time generate revenue from it to support further enhancements and to be able to continue our passion.

Start out with a reason and a purpose thats close and personal to you.  Naturally for us, it is to do everything and anything for our kids.  We don’t see developing apps as a job, but as a passion to do something that can benefit a child because honestly, at the end of day, that all that really matters.
