Privacy Statement

In light of the recent buzz on privacy rights, we thought we’d take a moment to address our view on the matter. As a company we feel strongly that the efficiency and use of data collection should be a top priority for the mobile industry. In order for the ecosystem to continue to grow and prosper, each player in the space needs to take privacy standards seriously and work towards protecting the rights of consumers. This is an issue that we take seriously so it’s important to us that there’s a clear understanding of how we manage the data collection process and also to address some common questions regarding privacy.
Our Process
From the start, we’ve given developers the tools and information they need to protect the privacy of their users. We gather anonymous UDID data and any information we collect can only be viewed in the aggregate, not user by user. In no way does Mobclix collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) which could be used to identify, contact, or locate an individual. The aggregated information is used to build our audience profiles for better targeting, nothing else.
UDID vs PII
UDID is a unique device identifier and in no way links to an individual, this is the only data Mobclix collects. From gathering the UDID, we are able to create high-level marketing segments which gives advertisers the ability to more efficiently reach their target market. It also provides consumers a more pleasant experience being served advertisements that are more attractive to them. PII is data that is used to uniquely identify a single person/individual (i.e. name, gender, age etc) and Mobclix does not support this type of data collection.
Opt-Out
UDID data cannot be dismanteled from a users device but there is a solution for those that want to be removed from the targeting process. Like most companies in the mobile advertising space, we offer an ‘opt-out’ service to users on our exchange that allows them to voice that they would not like to receive targeted advertising. If you chose to opt-put of targeted advertising on the Mobclix Exchange please go here or email opt-out@mobclix.com.
